Analyze your time in Heart Rate Zones

The Heart Rate Zones section, found on the Progress tab, provides a detailed analysis of your training intensity. This feature helps you visualize how much time you've spent in each zone, allowing you to assess if your training aligns with your fitness goals, such as building an aerobic base or preparing for high-intensity efforts.

Navigating the Heart Rate Zones Chart

When you tap on the Heart Rate Zones card, you'll see a comprehensive chart that visualizes your effort distribution over time.

  • Time Frame Selection: At the top right, you can toggle between a 4W (4-week) and 12W (12-week) view to adjust the period shown in the main chart.
  • Main Chart: This chart displays your cumulative time in each heart rate zone as a stacked area graph. Below it, a bar chart shows the zone distribution for individual workouts, helping you spot specific high or low-intensity sessions.

4-Week Overview

Directly below the main chart, the 4-Week Overview provides a statistical breakdown of your time in each heart rate zone over the last four weeks. For each zone, you can see:

  • Zone: The specific heart rate zone number.
  • Pct.: The percentage of your total training time spent in that zone.
  • Duration: The total time (in hours and minutes) you've spent in that zone.

Long-Term Overview

Scroll down to find the Long-Term Overview, which offers a broader perspective on your training intensity.

  • 6-Month Chart: This stacked bar chart visualizes your weekly time spent in each heart rate zone over the past six months, making it easy to identify long-term trends and training patterns.
  • 6-Month Summary: Similar to the 4-week view, this section provides a percentage and duration breakdown for each zone across the entire six-month period.

Tips for Using This Section

Compare your short-term (4-week) and long-term (6-month) overviews. This can reveal if your recent training intensity has shifted, helping you confirm whether you're successfully following a specific training plan, such as polarized or pyramidal training.

Summary

The Heart Rate Zones analysis feature provides powerful visualizations to help you understand your training intensity. By examining your effort distribution across different time frames, from individual workouts to a six-month overview, you can ensure your training is balanced and effectively aligned with your fitness objectives.
